Grants for home energy measures

Published: 15 June 2023

Low income households in North Somerset who do not have gas central heating may be eligible for a new round of government funding to install a wide range of energy-saving, low carbon heating measures in their homes.

The Bright Green Homes project will deliver energy efficient and cost-saving measures which also reduce carbon emissions, as part of North Somerset Council’s commitment to tackling the climate emergency.

A wide range of insulation and low-carbon technologies can be funded. To qualify for the funding you must meet these criteria:

  • your property must not use gas central heating – the scheme is only open to people who use oil, wood, LPG or electric heating systems
  • have a combined annual household income of £31,000 or lower
  • live in North Somerset.

If you meet the eligibility criteria, complete the online questionnaire at https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/56OGQZ/ and the project team will contact you to discuss the next steps.

If you have any questions email domestic@bristolcityleap.co.uk, go to www.n-somerset.gov.uk/BGH or call 0117 352 1180 to speak to the project team.

The criteria for eligibility were established by the government’s Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ).
