Churchill Music!

Interested in Music?  Why not investigate Churchill Music – the concert and music education charity known for its excellence, innovation and energy?

Whether you want to mooch to Mozart, drink to Debussy or jive to jazz, with music performed by world-class musicians in a relaxed atmosphere with a wine and juice bar available at all concerts, Churchill Music is for you.  Previous musicians have been Sheku and Isata Kanneh-Mason, CM Patron, Peter Donohoe, The Carducci Quartet, The Aquinas piano trio, John Williams, John Etheridge, Jess Gillam, the list goes on.

You could try the very popular, weekly ‘Sing for Fun’ (and health and wellbeing) group held in Langford.

“But I can’t sing”, we hear you say.  We reply that it doesn’t matter – no one cares a jot.  Sing well-loved songs, meet people and have a good laugh!  No knowledge or ability to read music is needed.

As well as the world-class concerts, Churchill Music facilitate and provides a wealth of education activities with local partners which include primary and secondary schools and the West of England Music Alliance (Music tri-hub).

The Concert Series runs in conjunction with our Youth Project where musicians present workshops in local primary and secondary schools in addition to working with community groups. Churchill Music! also holds an annual Young Musician of the Year Competition for local youngsters that encourages and rewards not only technical excellence but also performance skills and presentation. All this without a penny of public funding, and with a strong reputation for excellence, innovation and friendliness.

All concerts are held in the beautiful setting of the Church of St John the Baptist, Church Lane, Churchill, BS25 5QW. By car we are 35 minutes from central Bristol, 20 minutes from Weston, 10 minutes from Bristol International Airport, and readily accessible from junctions 20 and 21 of the M5. Parking is available in the church car park or in the lane. There is also a minibus service available for the five main concerts of the Churchill Music! calendar.
